Surfing through Blog world one day, I came across this fantastic toddler book idea by Katie at Notes from a Very Red Kitchen!
I love this idea because the final product is stiff and sturdy,
and easy to clean and wipe off,
because the pages are sewn into plastic sheet covers!
The final product was cheap, easy and fun to make!
And adds another way to publish a tale for our collection.
I'm really excited about what possibilities this craft might open up for us in the near future ;)
It gives us more opportunities for handmade tales and toys to pair together!
Thanks for the comment on my blog, this book is an awesome idea!
ReplyDeleteInteresting... :)
ReplyDeleteThat is such a neat idea. Wish I would've had this when my youngins were little.
ReplyDeleteI can hear your thoughts 'sizzling' with ideas, CK. Can't wait to see what you'll come up next!
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful, I'm ready to pay for a tutorial PDF of your story, were all I have to do is print our the story and stick it in the sheet protectors and sew! Tell me when, Tell me when!!! Then my little niece and put stickers all over the book and not my face during Sacrament.
ReplyDeletelovely idea *
ReplyDeletei love this idea because cardboard books inevitably end up in the babes' drooling little mouths and in the hands of curious toddlers who mistakenly turn a layer of cardboard instead of the next page! and as always ck, i love your sweet comments on my blog! did you see my latest post about word sandwiches? it might be helpful to you in teaching your daughter spanish! cheers!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Especially that it can be wiped off after sticky little fingers were on it! :)
ReplyDeleteBest,
Gloria

ReplyDeleteStiff, sturdy and practical, but without sacrificing charm, whimsy and style! I love it! I look forward to seeing your future creations with this fabulous technique!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! And I am a big believer in getting books into kids' hands - no matter how young.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! So many of our books have yucky smudges on them from sticky, little fingers. It would be so nice to just wipe them off.
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful! Your little book looks so professional! I'd love to have you add some pictures of it to my Flickr group!
